Corn, Callouses & Verruca
Professional, painless removal of corns, calluses and verrucae using sterile instruments — safer and more effective than home cutting.
If you are diabetic, have any allergies, or have any other medical condition, please inform our team before your treatment or before using any product. This helps us keep you safe and recommend the right care for you.
Corns, calluses and verrucae are three of the most common — and most confused — foot skin conditions. All three cause hard, thickened patches of skin, but they have different causes and need different treatment, which is why self-diagnosis and home "bathroom surgery" with razor blades so often goes wrong.
Telling them apart
Calluses are broad areas of thickened skin caused by repeated friction or pressure, usually on the ball of the foot or heel — very common with ill-fitting shoes or flat, hard-soled chappal. Corns are smaller, more concentrated, cone-shaped areas of hard skin that press inward and can be quite painful, often between or on top of the toes. Verrucae (plantar warts) are caused by a viral infection of the skin (HPV) and often have tiny black dots visible in the centre — they can look similar to a callus but are contagious and need different treatment entirely.
Why home removal is risky
Cutting corns or calluses at home with a blade, especially for diabetic patients or anyone with reduced circulation, risks cuts that become infected and heal slowly. Over-the-counter corn plasters contain acid that can burn healthy surrounding skin if misapplied. Verrucae in particular should never be cut, as this can spread the virus to a wider area.
Our professional treatment
Using sterile scalpel debridement, we safely and painlessly reduce corns and calluses in a single visit, immediately relieving pressure and pain. For verrucae, we assess and offer appropriate treatment based on size, location and how long it has been present. We also identify and address the underlying cause — footwear, gait, or pressure pattern — so the problem is less likely to return.
Prevention
Wear properly fitted, cushioned footwear. Avoid walking barefoot in shared wet areas (gyms, public showers, swimming pools) to reduce verruca risk. Moisturise regularly to keep skin supple. Book regular medicated pedicure visits if you are prone to recurring hard skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a corn, a callus and a verruca?
A callus is a broad area of thickened skin from friction or pressure. A corn is a smaller, more concentrated area of hard skin, often over a joint. A verruca is a wart caused by a virus and can be contagious, requiring different treatment.
Is it safe to cut corns or calluses at home?
Home removal with razor blades or acid plasters is a common cause of cuts and infections in Pakistan. Professional, painless removal with sterile instruments is safer and more effective.
Will corns and calluses come back after treatment?
They can return if the underlying cause - usually pressure from footwear or foot shape - isn't addressed, which is why treatment often includes advice on footwear or orthotic support.
