Please tell us before your visit or order

If you are diabetic, have any allergies, or have any other medical condition, please inform our team before your treatment or before using any product. This helps us keep you safe and recommend the right care for you.

Cracked heels, also called heel fissures, are extremely common across Pakistan — open sandals and chappal exposing the heel to friction and dryness for much of the year, combined with dry winter air in the north, create the perfect conditions for hard, thickened, cracking skin around the heel edge.

Why heels crack

As Ms. Salma Roshan has explained, cracked heels stemming from dryness or pressure can be managed with regular medicated pedicures, and cracked heels caused by dehydration of the skin can be treated with proper moisturising. Standing for long periods, walking barefoot on hard floors, being overweight (which increases pressure on the heel), and simply not moisturising regularly all contribute.

When it becomes more than cosmetic

Mild dryness is common and manageable at home, but deep fissures can crack open, bleed, and become painful or infected — this is a particular concern for diabetic patients, where any open wound on the foot needs prompt professional attention rather than home remedies.

Our treatment

We offer professional debridement of thickened, hardened skin around the heel using sterile instruments, followed by treatment with our own medicated foot balm, formulated to be useful for heel fissures, hard skin, extra dry chapped feet, calluses and athlete's foot. We also assess whether footwear or a gait issue is contributing to uneven pressure on the heel.

Home care between visits

Moisturise your heels daily, ideally straight after bathing while skin is still slightly damp. Avoid walking barefoot on hard, rough floors for long periods. Choose footwear with proper heel support rather than always wearing flat open sandals. Book a medicated pedicure every few weeks if your heels crack repeatedly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do heels crack so much in Pakistani winters?

Dry winter air, open-back sandals, and standing for long periods all dry out and thicken the skin on the heel, eventually causing painful cracks or fissures.

How are cracked heels treated professionally?

Treatment includes safe removal of thickened, hard skin followed by a targeted moisturising routine - far more effective and safer than home scraping with blades.
